Engineering Innovation

Students at Sci-Tech High School participate in a summer program in conjunction with Johns Hopkins School of Engineering. It is a 5 week course where students attend college-level lectures, take part in simulations and laboratory experiments and learn from professional engineers about careers, internships and college choices in the broad field of engineering. Students who successfully complete the course with a grade of an A or B receive three college credits from Johns Hopkins University; students who receive a C or better receive a certificate of completion and credit for an elective through the Harrisburg School District.

High school students in the Harrisburg School District may participate in the summer program offered at the Sci-Tech high school campus in conjunction with the Johns Hopkins School of Engineering. It is a 5-week summer honors program where students attend college-level lectures, take part in simulations and laboratory experiments, and learn from professional engineers about careers, internships and college choices in the broad field of engineering. Students who successfully complete the course with a grade of A or B receive three college credits from Johns Hopkins University; students who receive a C or better receive a certificate of completion and credit for an elective through the Harrisburg School District.

The curriculum links math, science and engineering concepts to real-world practices, teaching students how to think and problem-solve like engineers.

This is one of the programs funded through EITC.
